New Scholarship Fund Targets First-Generation College Applicants

A newly launched scholarship fund is aiming squarely at one of the quieter barriers to higher education: the upfront cost of simply applying.

The fund covers application fees, standardized test registration and pairs each recipient with a mentor who has navigated the process themselves.

Organizers say early demand has outpaced their initial funding target, and they are now in talks with several corporate sponsors to expand the program next year.
